The event not to be missed in 2024
If you haven't been hibernating for the last few months, you won't have missed this important news. The Olympic Games are coming to France for the summer of 2024. Scheduled to take place from
26 July to 11 August 2024, and from
28 August to 8 September 2024 for the Paralympic Games, the event will take place all over France. But before that, the Olympic flame will be making its way across France, with a stopover in Normandy.
A flamboyant route
From 16 April 2024, the Olympic flame will set off to meet the people of France. It's a
symbolic moment preceding the Olympic Games.
Did you know?
The flame is lit at a ceremony in Olympus, Greece. Then it's off on the great journey that embodies
unity and
peace. Athletes, celebrities and
sports members take part in the relay, which is often accompanied by
local celebrations.
Follow the Olympic flame in Normandy
From
30 May to 6 July 2024, the regions of Normandy are mobilising to bring you this
unusual moment.
Check out the
schedule:
- 30 May: passing through Caen and the towns of Calvados
- 31 May: Mont-Saint-Michel and the Manche department
- 5 July: Le Havre welcomes the flame, as do other towns in Seine-Maritime
- 6 July: The Eure département has been awarded the "Land of the 2024 Games" label, and the route will make a notable stopover there.
