Protecting the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel
By regulating the water, the
Couesnon dam has since 2009 given the river Le Couesnon enough strength to drive the sediment out to sea, far from the Mont.
Beyond its hydraulic function, the dam also aims to offer visitors the time to discover the area before reaching the village and the Abbey.
