Since Monday April 16, the National Monuments Center brings together the know-how of the builders and the know-how of the bells engineer with « A spring that sounds right at the Abbey » in partnership with
the foundry Cornille Havard.
Until May 16, 2018, in partnership with the foundry Cornille Havard, bell foundry of Villedieu-les-Poêles since 1865, the monks covered walkway of the Abbey of the Mont-Saint-Michel celebrates the bell art, the time of a few weeks.
With the support of large photos, the manufacturing process will be evoked. Passing from the presentation of old and modern bells to the history of those of abbey of the Mont-Saint-Michel, a nice break is offered to visitors around the rooms of the monument.
In addition to the exhibition, a conference titled « bell in all its states » will be proposed by Paul Bergamo, president of the bell foundry Cornille Havard on Wednesday April 18 and the following April 25 at 3p.m. He will cover topics as varied as the legend of the Easter bells, but also their civic or maritime utility over the centuries.
